Our construction company is local to San Diego. We build additions that are handicap accessible as well as home remodeling services.

Handicapped Solutions specializes in making homes accessible to disabled individuals and the elderly by providing state of the art Modular Ramps, installing grab bars where you need them and making modifications to your home such as widening doors and hallways, lowering cabinets and raising electrical outlets.

Bathtubs can be made more accessible by adding grab bars. Showers can be made so that wheelchairs  can roll in and out,  We can also install ramps and body lifts. 

We also specialize in making older commercial restrooms ADA compliant.

Home Modifications Grants

Accessibility 1000

Beginning in October of last year, Access to Independence received a grant from Housing and Urban Development in conjunction with the Fair Housing Council of San Diego.

 This grant, Accessibility 1000, will provide $1000 for home modifications to eligible individuals with disabilities living within the city of San Diego.

The first project a2i contributed to using these funds was for the home modifications provided to the consumers.

These modifications included a completely remodeled shower room, widened bedroom doorways and custom-built doors.

This is an extremely important project that will make independent living an attainable goal for many people with disabilities living in and out of institutions. Please support this cause by referencing the "Accessibility 1000" project when you make your donations.
